Warning: This conversation topic contains spoilers and thus is under a cut! If you've not seen all of the endings for The Last Hope and you don't want to know anything about the endings, please skip over this! Thank you!
I had to find this ending on youtube and watch it because, well, so far, I can't be nice to Reimi and earn enough affinity points to gain her ending so I can see Crowe's ending. Yes, you have to earn enough affinity points with Reimi, view her ending, along with gaining the endings for Sarah and Meracle (not Myuria, for some strange reason) as well as trigger these Private Actions:
* On the fifth leg of the flight to Cardianon, speak to Reimi in the Battle Simulator Room. It's the only Private Action for this leg of the flight so it's either trigger it or go to sleep.
* After recruiting Myuria but before completing the Purgatorium events, return to The Calnus and speak with Bacchus and Myuria in the Crew Quarters. You'll find them in whichever room you've assigned to Myuria.
* During the flight to En II and also while docked on En II, the player is given several opportunities to trigger a Private Action between Edge, Arumat, and Reimi in which Arumat asks about the relationship between Edge and Crowe. The player must answer that Crowe is either Edge's best friend or rival.
* Place a funeral bouquet near the remains of Crowe's ship in the Halls of Termination (near the entrance to the Palace of Creation) on Nox Obscuris.
Once this has been accomplished, the endings viewed, and the final credits rolled will Crowe's (and Faize's ending) ending play out. For his ending, he lands on Roak. Yes. Roak. And he's found by none other than Eleyna Farrence, our favorite snarky fortune-teller. Her first comments in seeing Crowe is in regards to the children the two of them will have.
With that in mind, it tells me that, for sure, Crowe and Eleyna are a canon pairing for The Last Hope. Do they find love? Do they live happily ever after or as close to it as possible?
I think Crowe and Eleyna have more of a chance of finding love and living "happily" ever after than what Edge and Reimi do or even perhaps Lymle and Faize (another heavily implied canon pairing). Why would I think that?
First of all, when Crowe and Eleyna meet, there's absolutely no emotional connections between them. Yes. Eleyna knows that they will have children. She might even be aware that she falls in love with him - her auguries can tell her many things except for depth of emotion or even what Faize is going through - but there's still nothing truly between them. There are none of those silly expectations and petty jealousies between them that there are between Edge and Reimi. Also, Eleyna is going to know that trust is sacred and that, in order for Crowe to trust her, she will have to display the same kind of trust in him. The fact that they just meet at the end of the game gives them a fighting chance to get to know each other. Simply put, when it comes to secrets and jealousy, neither one of them would put up with the other's crap.
Second of all, Eleyna and Crowe would be challenges to each other. He'd try to be a charming gentleman (which, he is), and she'd not buy it. He'd also be cocky about his abilities and yet still retain the guilt over losing as many of the Eldarian refugees and Faize as he had, things Eleyna wouldn't put up with in a potential husband/partner. As with the fact they just meet for the first time at the end of the game, this would allow them to get to know each other.
Third, they're both gorgeous, and they'll love that about each other as well as their mutual intellectual capabilities. Eleyna isn't stupid. Crowe isn't stupid.
Fourth, if Eleyna caught Crowe spying on her as she bathed or dressed, I don't see her reacting in the same manner as Reimi and calling Crowe a pervert. If anything, she'd be quite snarky about it and embarrass him instead.
Because they're both strong and intelligent individuals, I think that's the canon match made in heaven. I think they could find a way to live together and be happy.
I welcome those of you who read over this to weigh in on the matter.
