star_ocean_fanI apologize for the silence from October 29th until today. We were without Internet for almost a week and then my thumb drive decided to take a crapper on me, which took out everything I'd saved to it, including the Halloween entries I was working on and trying get myself caught up on for everyone - I was going to try and write some of this month's entries ahead of time but it just didn't happen. I apologize for that, and I will be working to get myself caught up as quickly as I possibly can. It was quite the heart-wrenching setback, but it is just that: a setback. It's also a learning experience for me in how to handle them and how to overcome the feelings of being both daunted and defeated. It's a bummer for me because I lost some gift stories for a fellow deviant, but Christmas is coming. I'll be working on that come December 1st.
I am surviving NaNo this year, just not in the way that I want. I'm glad I didn't lose much of Destinies Intertwined by Fate.

CALL OUT FOR CHRISTMAS/UPCOMING HOLIDAY SEASON
Okay, this is going to very much flow in the same vein as Halloween. For the upcoming holiday season in December, I am seeking out the following:
photos - cosplay, figures, etc . . .
fan art
fan fiction
There are quite a few holidays in December so Star Ocean fans have their pick. There is Hanukkah, Kwanza, Christmas Eve, Christmas, Yule/the winter solstice, New Year's Eve, and New Year's. If I'm missing anything, please let me know, and I will gladly add it to the list. I would very much like to celebrate Star Ocean style. If anyone has or would like to do anything for the holidays in the month of December in terms of cosplay photography, figure/toy photography, fan art, and fan fiction, I will gladly post it to the journals. Credit will be given to the people who submit something. Please keep stories to one-shots. I'll accept chaptered fiction as long as it's complete. When submitting stories (and poetry - I'll accept poetry, too), please include the following:

Stories, artwork, and photography do not need to be and will not exclusive to the journals so if you want to post them to other sites like fanfiction.net, dA, tumblr, etc . . ., you can. As far as I'm concerned, such works are not mine to say where they can and can't go on the web. I can only say that for my works.
As far as the artwork and stories go, NO EXPLICIT MATERIAL. Please keep the profanity to an acceptable level. My journal entries are public so that means anyone and everyone of all ages can read them so please use discretion should you decide to write something for the blogs.
Also, where this blog is concerned, I will try to resume writing every day to the best of my abilities. NaNo is kicking my butt right this moment, and my time management for this month has been not the greatest. All I can do is try.

Star Ocean Fan Event
I have a poll up at fanfiction.net to garner interest for a Star Ocean fan event. I've mentioned it a few times before. I would love to host a Star Ocean Convention or Craft Faire sometime in the near future, but I need to know how many people would be interested in attending, and how many days I should schedule such an event for, taking into consideration travel time and costs of traveling for fellow Star Ocean fans. You can find the poll at http://www.fanfiction.net/u/831901/ to vote. (If it disappears, don't worry. It will be back up as needed. I do participate in other fandoms and will have other polls up periodically.)
Please vote once. As much as I'd love to have three thousand "yes" votes, I would rather it be because three thousand people said "yes" and not fifty people voting "yes" repeatedly. A more accurate count would be best for something like this.

Ask the Star Ocean Character
Just a quick note on this. I will get the three segments up for Deputy Director Shimada, Bacchus D-79, and Peppita Rosetti as promised. It won't be this upcoming Friday, however. I'm aiming for December 7 for those. (It's the final dash for NaNo. That's why I'm not aiming for this Friday.) This Thursday, I will announce the next character for the December 14th Ask the Star Ocean Character segment.
And that concludes this for today. I apologize for the brevity of this entry. I will be trying harder to keep this updated as much as possible. There is also no schedule for this week. I'm just going to do what I can.
Hope all of my fellow Star Ocean fans have had a wonderful month so far and a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, laughter, and love.
